Terms and Conditions
1. DEPOSITS & BOOKINGS
To secure your order and event date, a 50% non-refundable deposit/retainer is required. This deposit reserves your date only and no booking is confirmed until the deposit has been received.
The remaining balance is due no later than 7 days prior to the collection or delivery date.
All quotes are valid for 7 days from the date issued and are subject to availability until the deposit is paid.
For bookings made within 8 days of the collection date, full payment is required at the time of booking.
2. CANCELLATIONS – CAKE ORDERS
If you need to cancel your order for any reason, you must notify Be Caked in writing via email (info@becaked.com.au) as soon as possible. The more notice provided, the greater the chance we can assist.
Cancellation options (subject to availability):
a) Funds paid may be transferred to a new date.
b) Any amount paid excluding the non-refundable 50% deposit may be refunded to your nominated account, and the deposit may be held as a credit toward a future booking (to be used within 12 months, subject to availability).
Cancellations made within 1–5 days of the collection date are not eligible for a refund or credit, as the order is likely in progress or near completion.
Be Caked reserves the right to cancel an order in rare and unavoidable circumstances beyond our control (including illness, family emergency, or isolation). In such cases, all monies paid will be refunded in full, and we will attempt to recommend an alternative local cake decorator where possible (subject to their availability).
3. FINAL PAYMENTS
Final payment is due no later than 7 days prior to the agreed collection or delivery date. Failure to make payment by this time may result in the order not being fulfilled, and the deposit will be forfeited unless an alternative payment arrangement has been agreed to in advance.
Bookings made within 8 days of the event require full payment upfront.
Wedding cake orders must be paid in full at least 14 days prior to the event date.
4. COLLECTION TIMES
Please arrive on time for your scheduled collection appointment, which will be confirmed prior to your cake date. As we are a home-based business with tightly scheduled appointments, delays can significantly impact our operations.
If you are running late, please notify us as soon as possible via Messenger or SMS on 0421 825 630.
5. CHANGES TO ORDERS
Any changes to cake size, design, or flavours may incur additional charges.
Changes requested within 7 days of the collection date cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to further fees or refusal depending on the production stage.
6. DELIVERY & SET-UP
Delivery and setup fees are based on venue location and will be outlined in your final quote.
All multi-tiered wedding cakes must be delivered by Be Caked.
7. TRANSPORT & CARE (CLIENT COLLECTIONS)
If you or your representative choose to collect the cake, you accept full responsibility for the cake once it leaves our possession.
Cakes must be transported according to our instructions:
• Place the cake box flat on the floor of the vehicle
• Never place cakes on laps, seats, or in the boot
• Ensure air conditioning is on in warm weather and heaters are off in winter
• Cakes must not remain in the car longer than necessary
• Transport the cake directly to its final location
Failure to follow these instructions voids any responsibility on our part for damage.
8. DAMAGE & ENVIRONMENT
Be Caked is not responsible for any damage occurring after collection or once setup has been completed.
You are responsible for providing:
• A stable, level, and sturdy table
• An environment of 23°C or below
• Protection from direct sunlight, heat, wind, or other elements
9. EXTERNAL DECORATIONS
Where flowers or decorations are supplied by a third party, Be Caked accepts no liability for their condition or safety.
Fresh flowers are not food-grade and may contain pesticides, insects, or other contaminants.
10. PHOTOGRAPHY & MARKETING
Be Caked reserves the right to photograph all cakes and creations and use images for promotional or marketing purposes.
11. ALLERGEN INFORMATION
Our products may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy, gluten and other allergens.
You agree to notify your guests accordingly and release Be Caked from liability for allergic reactions.
12. GLUTEN DISCLAIMER
Be Caked is not a certified gluten-free kitchen. Trace amounts of gluten may be present.
13. CAKE CLASSES & WORKSHOPS
If a class is cancelled by Be Caked, a full refund will be issued.
No-shows are not eligible for refunds or credits.
Cancellations within 7 days of the class date are non-refundable.
Cancellations 8–28 days prior may receive a refund or credit (credit valid for 12 months).
Class places may be transferred to another person with prior notice.
14. MINIMUM NUMBERS & CLASS CHANGES
Classes are subject to minimum numbers. Be Caked may reschedule or cancel a class and offer a transfer or full refund.
15. PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY
Late arrivals cannot make up missed class time. Materials remain the intellectual property of Be Caked.
16. COMPLAINTS & REFUNDS
Concerns must be raised directly with Be Caked prior to public reviews (Google, social media etc)
Cakes are sampled and photographed prior to collection.
Refunds require the cake to be returned and are at Be Caked’s discretion.
17. EQUIPMENT HIRE
Hire fees and security deposits apply. Deposits are refunded within 14 days of return, provided equipment is returned within 3 days, undamaged and complete.
18. FORCE MAJEURE
Performance is subject to events beyond our control including acts of mother nature.
19. AGREEMENT
By placing an order or booking a class, you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full.
